SO. Hogsmeade has been open for five hours now, but I've been unavailable (again) to post the official welcoming post. If you guys want to kick me in the rear, I don't blame you. ;)

At any rate! Hogsmeade is open today through Monday night EDT. That's four days! Well...technically three and a half at this point, but who's to get into little details like that? You can post anything you like, as long as it's vaguely related somehow to HogwartsisHome. There will be contests and discussions and lots of fun stuff, so you get to earn lots and lots of points and knuts for your House!

Here's the basic set-up for this weekend:

Contests: 70/60/50/30 | 50/40/30/15
Discussions/Debates: 30 points 15 knuts for first response; 10 points and 2 knuts for every response thereafter
Making a post: 30 points and 15 knuts
Responses to posts: 5 points and 1 knut

Some activities, such as the Sugarquill one, vary a bit, but the post will let you know what's going on.

NOW. For the first contest! This is a text contest open until Friday 11pm EDT. We just had Halloween, and I'm sure everyone saw lots of scary movies in the last few weeks. But what would the movies be if they starred the Harry Potter cast? By this I mean, give us a title of a scary movie, but altered for the HP universe. Maybe Scary Movie 3: When Sirius Escaped. Well, I dunno, I'm not that creative. A poll will be posted on Saturday for voting! Comment here, they'll be screened, and you can enter as many as you like!

I posted this in the 'claw commons room a couple of weeks ago, and I got pretty interesting replies. Thought I'd share it with you other awesomely cool peeps:

HP Astrology

For some people (like yours truly), it's scarily accurate. But for others it's way off. Do your sign and House descriptions reflect your soul or are they way out in left field? I'd especially like comments from those of you who are on the fence of two houses to see if both of the House descriptions fit you (mine do really well- Leo Raven and Slyth).
