• Link a picture of that animal. (No hotlinking; upload to your own server.)
1. This animal is the largest in its family, and also the largest of its infraclass. It travels in a mob and likes to box, making it a critter you really don't want to mess with.
2. This animal is a cousin to the dingo and hails from the world's second largest island. Ask the member who has this animal as her animagus form nicely, and she may just sing you a song.
3. This animal, which is endangered, hails from central Asia and is prized for its beautiful coat and is used as a symbol in heraldry. Despite the notoriety of the skill amongst its relatives, this beast can not roar.
4. Depending on what country you hail from, this little animal has two different names depending on what colour its coat is at the time. It has long been a symbol of nobility and its winter fur is often found in the form of coats, shoals and other articles of clothing. It's also probably the most likely on this list to have its name mispronounced.
5. This animal is prized for its wool and, despite being native to South America, farms of it are increasingly common in the US. Despite being quite comfortable with humans due to being domesticated for thousands of years, this critter is quite likely to spit at you if you displease it.
6. This animal is known for being able to mimic other animals extremely well. It forms tight connections with companions to the point of being very distraught when feeling abandoned. While others of similar variety are intelligent, this particular animal is classed as among the most intelligent.
7. This animal is often considered a trickster, and yet is closely related to an animal that embodies loyalty. A new world native, this animal travels in packs over most of the continent trying to find a way to live peacably with humans, who largely consider it a huge pest.
8. This animal comes in a large variety of breeds, but this particular one is named after a medieval Germanic saga (despite being American) and for its distinctive coat. While closely related to another, more commonly known breed, this one is very new, having come about in the 1980s.
9. This animal nests on cliffsides and is found practically worldwide. It has been on the endangered species list but do to international recovery efforts, it is now listed as "least concern." It's very popular amongst people who train this type of animal, and was famously used in World War II to intercept homing pigeons.
10. This peculiarly-marked animal is small compared to most of its family and is native to South America. It can climb even the tallest trees in the Andes with ease and although they typically avoid each other, they're not very territorial. This animal is also classed as "vulnerable" due to deforestation and the fact that its gall bladder is highly valued for its purported uses in Oriental Medicine.
11. This animal is remarkably strong for its size and has a reputation for ferocity, inspiring the name of a famous comic-book character. It is also reputed to be a glutton, and its special dental structure enables it to easily crush bones or frozen carrion, a useful trick when it tends to live in northern areas.
12. This animal is one of the oldest breeds of its species, and there are images of what could be this animal on ceramics over 5000 years old. It is not the fastest of its species, but it can outrun the sprinting breeds using endurance and stamina. It is a very healthy breed and is sensitive and intelligent, though they can also seem reserved and aloof.
13. This fascinating, mildly venemous animal has demonstrated parthenogenesis in a zoo environment, making it one of the largest species we know to be capable of reproducing asexually. Although this critter typically eats carrion, they will also hunt if necessary, and have even attacked and killed humans. As if you needed another clue, this beastie is found in Indonesia.
14. This animal is brightly colored and always forms symbiotic relationships in the wild. It's also a documented sequential hermaphrodite, but despite this, it managed to star in its own animated film.
15. This animal can be seen as a symbol of bad luck, and has a reputation for stealing and hoarding things. It is also the only non-mammal known to be able to recognise itself in a mirror.
