Houston, Texas here.
Best: Umm.. I honestly can't think of anything. Texas sucks. =(
Worst: It's too hot and humid here in the armpit of Texas

I don't really consider myself left or right winged because my beliefs kind of fall under both.
I am going to vote this year, and while I can't say I approve of Bush.. He's sure a hell of a lot better than Kerry, I think. >_o

i'm from the united states. baltimore maryland, to be exact.
the best thing about maryland is...um. i actually can't think of one off the top of my head. i guess it's really not that bad. there's just nothing really special about it, i mean
the worst thing. well, i'm just going through that whole teenager agh-get-me-OUT-of-this-city phase right now, so i'm just kind of sick of everything here, to tell you the truth. but i think everyone goes through that, it's nothing about maryland or anything, just me. heh.
i'm only fourteen, so i can't really vote yet. but if i could i'd definitely be voting for kerry this election. i just do not believe in anything that bush has done during his term, i think. i've grown up in a fairly liberal community, i've grown up with pretty liberal people around me and i go to a very progressive and liberal school, so i guess i'm not really objective enough towards this race. most everyone i know hates bush; and the decisions that he's made i just do not agree with. so. i'd vote for kerry :)

Michigan/teh Craptacular USA
The best thing about where I live: The fantabulous Detroit Red Wings, Faygo Pop, and Detroit itself... Oh, and I have to drive a half an hour SOUTH to get to Canada...

Worst thing would probably be: the EFFING roads (so many potholes) and the months of construction that don't fix ANYTHING!

Voting straight democrat. Forever.

I'm from Florida. Best thing: the weather. Worst thing: the weather.

I'm a liberal republican (some would say that's an oxymoron). I might be republican but I'm not one of die-hard ones. I'm pretty in between but I always lean a bit more the right wing. I'm voting for Bush because I can't stand Kerry.

New York City. Best thing about it is it's the City. There are loads of opportunities to meet famous people. Worst thing is the traffic and how crowded it is here, which is why the Harry Potter World Premieres should NEVER be held here again. Not the World Premiere, the streets are far too small for it.

Can't vote til... '07. Born in December dammit. But if I could, definitely going for Kerry.

best thing: city life, so fun...diverse...
worst thing: the weather, it could be 85 degrees one day and then the next its down to 59 or something. tend to get colds because of the weather shifts...yeah.

democrat, but i really dont like kerry, so im not sure yet...

I live in Arizona.
Best: Well, it doesn't get too cold? I don't know if there is really a plus to Arizona! haha!
Worst: Arizona is so damn hot in the summer. Die evil heat!!

And if I could vote in this year's election I'd be voting Kerry! I despise everything about Bush! Just hearing or seeing his name makes me want to vomit!

Worst part of Indiana: Conservatives everywhere.

Political affliations: Liberal / Independent; Pro-same-sex-marriage; I'm voting, yes.

Georgia.
Best: Hmm. Probably the procurement of coca cola, warm winters, Savannah, and the way the moss hangs from the trees.
Worst: GAHHHHHH the humidity. and I'm going to move to a state without the highest pollen level in the country. *snerk* The choice of colleges to go to sucks, too. SCAD is much too expensive. *tears*

Right of the middle is my political affiliation. Voting GW, because I can't stand Kerry.

I'm from South Carolina, soon to be moving to Charleston for college.

The best thing about SC: Ummm.....Darlington? Shrimp? I am not really sure. I think there are lots of high points about SC, even though I cannot wait to live somewhere else for a while.

Worst thing about SC: The bugs......Palmetto bugs are awful. I hate them. You think a cockroach is bad, wait till there is one with wings flying at you. Also, the humidity is horrible.

New Joisey.

There's really nothing good about the state. High insurance because PEOPLE CAN'T DRIVE FOR THEIR LIVES, and McGreevey's an arse and took away most of school funding. So, chances are, further generations are going to be dimwitted morons.

Gah...honestly? I don't like either. But it doesn't matter, because I can't vote anyway. :D Not exactly a citizen, yanno.

Chciag, Illinois.
Best: There's a lot to do here.
Worst: Everyone thinks they are all "Ghet-to" in the 'burbs. It's so lame. It's like Wigger World.

If I were old to vote vote, then hell fucking yes I would & it would be for Kerry, too cuz Bush is a dickhead with hair.

I'm from the Philippines (southeast asia)
Worst thing about it is.. It's a third world country
Best thing about it.. We are open to different things I guess.

Just wondering if there are other asians out there?
[identity profile] mortrainey.livejournal.com on July 17th, 2004 05:24 pm (UTC)
it's 3rd world? that's weird because most americans have heard of it. we usually don't hear of small countries, but then again the Philippines are rather large and near Hong Kong, plus it has history of reign there
[identity profile] palendrome.livejournal.com on July 16th, 2004 10:18 pm (UTC)
Orange County, California.

The worst thing would probably be the heat. The heat just never stops here. And the fact that we don't have seasons. The trees just stay green all year round. Everyone here is deprived of the joys of cold weather. I've never seen real snow, and every winter I pray that there'll be some crazy weather thing and we'll have a blizzard.

The best thing is that Orange County is getting a lot of recognition because of the show, the O.C. It's so fun telling internet friends that I'm from Orange County and having them squeal and ask me what it's like.

As for political affiliation..bleh. I despise politics. If I was old enough to vote, I would choose not to, because I like neither Bush nor Kerry. *shakes fists at politicians*

Oh man. I love the O.C. I can't even stress how much I love that show. I don't know if there is anyone alive who is more obsessed than me. I want to stalk everyone on that show. THey are all Mm. Mm. Good & the show is damn addicting!

Ok..anyways...:P

Best: Uh... Carowinds... It's an amusement park on the North Carolina/South Carolina border. Very fun.

Worst: Everything else

I am from southern California, good ol' USA :D

Politics:
The worst thing was Gray Davis...
The best thing was a new governer :D

Weather:
The worst thing is no snow...
The best thing is beautiful weather!

People:
The worst thing is that a lot of people consider us Californians stupid 'dumb blondes' (which is stupid as well- blondes are VERY intelligent) who only surf, shop, and look pretty.
The best thing is that we aren't. I LOVE CA's diversity... Asians, Caucasians, Hispanics, African Americans... all good :D And we have a zillion movie stars! =)

I am too young to vote, but I am a moderate conservative, and I like what Bush has done for the country, considering what happened 9/11. But I don't hate liberals at all- my best friend is one :P

i was born in hawaii - lived in L.A. till age 11. salt lake till age 20. i moved to billings montana after i got married - been here 2 years now. i hate it for many reasons, like it for a few. beautiful land. down to earth people. lots of racist people, i get followed around in stores a lot. little to do.

political? im fairly liberal but not a democrat. i voted for nader in 2000 and will proudly do so again this year.

i am from the greater cleveland, ohio area by way of birmigham, alabama. i can't it here- i've wanted to leave since i was young (like 11 or younger!) the best thing is my sister and everyone in my circle are here and they are better family than my blood family. the worst thing is the city here is good for business people or those with a family but not a good place for anyone that hasn't gotten themselves together yet. even if it was a great place, i'm still tired of it. if been in the same house since i was 4 so it's time for a major change. in terms of the country, george w. bush is the president. not at all a fan of that, i voted for al gore. i end up voting democrat mostly because i vote for the candidate(s) i dislike the least and that happens to be democrats. i'm voting in '04 cause i can and to shut my brother up. but i've voted for 2 presidential elections and some local ones so far anyways. i don't vote all the time but i do vote so that counts.

Sweet, representin' for Canada. (Seriously... how am I the only one?) Anyway. I live in northwestern Canada right now (Edmonton, AB to be exact) but I've lived in Berkeley, CA, Cholula, Pue., Mexico and Hamilton, Ontario... so all over North America. What's good about Edmonton? Um... well... nothing, really. Except that it's in Canada. What's bad? Lots of stuff, particularly the weather.

On the American scale, I'd be classified as a Libertarian. On the Canadian, I'm a Liberal, though I don't vote for the Liberal party because of the party itself. That could change if the party changed... I would have voted PC, but then they went and merged with the Alliance and I will never vote for them. (To the Americans, the Alliance are a right party (pretty close to Republicans) and the Progressive Conservatives, or PC, were a centre-right party (fairly moderate Republicans). New Democratic Party, or NDP, are far-left (pretty much socialists, much further left than just about any Democrat) and the Liberals are centre-left (close to Democrats). Then we've got the Bloc Québecois who are more a regional party than a separatist, to be honest, but nonetheless they represent Québec's interests at the federal level but otherwise are a centre-left party. And the Green Party. Beyond that, too minor to mention (the Marijuana Party, the Marxist-Leninists, etc.))

Whoa... sorry for the lesson on Canadian politics. I know they're boring to Americans, but I like em. =)
