I'm thinking either Tonks or someone we've never met.

If Snape is ever the DADA teacher, it'd be in Book 7. Or at least that's what my unfounded instinct tells me.

But in the past it's always been people we've never met before in the series.

i totally agree about snape being so in book 7 for the following reasons:

1.) hopefully, by then we'll know why dumbledore never hired him in the past.
2.) he's the HBP so now all is well [ha].
3.) JKR said we won't meet any new characters after the 6th book.

It will probably be a new character who will have a big impact on the plot... just like every other book... Well, ok, Lockhart didn't have a huge impact on the plot but he did do some stuff... Err... yeah...

hmm, i havent thought about that at all...good question. i guess im going to have to go with a new character...but that may change after ive thought about it a few days.

For some reason I really want the new teacher to be Kingsley Shacklebolt.

I want to see more of him.

It may be Tonks, but I think it will be a new person. But I can see someone in the Order a DADA teacher.

I feel sorry for Snape sometimes. I think he should get the job sometime.

I've always thought that Dumbledore's main reason for not giving Snape that job was because it would be like opening the floodgates; I mean, it's been said quite a few times that Snape loved the Dark Arts - no matter how much he's changed, can he really be trusted to teach students how to defend themselves against it?

i actually really don't think it will be tonks. i mean, it's possible...but can you seriously imagine her teaching? i dunno, somehow she seems more the type that sat in the back of the class and talked with her friends than one of the scholarly ones. maybe i'm underestimating her, but i think she'd spend more time hanging out with harry than teaching. but i actually think that snape is a possibility in book six. i dunno, i just think maybe it's a little too predictable for j.k. rowling to put him in book seven...that's what everyone's expecting, isn't it? and we all know she doesn't usually do what we expect :)

Hmmm...well, I don't think it'll be someone we already know of. I was thinking that it may be a new character. You know what would kill two birds with one stone? If the person who is the new DADA teacher was also the HBP. But I'm not sure how that'd work.

Generally, JKR has the DADA teacher be a new person. I am going to say that she will continue with that line and introduce a new character.


Although I would really like it to be Tonks. Unrealistically, I'd love it to be Lupin again. He was just so awesome.
