Crying
I'm having a conversation with my friend Patrick about crying. During movies, books, songs...

I was wondering if anyone cried during any of the HP books or movies??

I personally haven't, or any movie or book for that matter, though I've gotten choked up. And I've cried during songs when I was feeling bad about myself, like the one I'm listening to now. But not really for anything else.

I cried when I read pg 806 of OoTP.

I cried when Cedric died too.... And when Harry's mum and dad came out of the wand and were talking to him...

I cry very easily... it doesn't take much to get me worked up.

I got choked up there with the Lily & James part. Actually any time Harry thinks about them I get sad. I'm also a weeper hehe. I cry ALL THE TIME!

Actually, only Sirius' death made me cry during all five books. None of the movies teared me up.

I always feel like an unsensitive bastard when people say this and that teared them up >_>;

Same for me. But I don't really feel bad about not tearing up. I like being 'happy'.

I cried recently while rereading GoF, though I can't remember if I cried before...

Erm - I cried at the end of Titanic. -- I was twelve. ^^;

Apart from that, no. The Harry Potter movies didn't evoke any emotion in me (well, Radcliffe's acting in the first amused me, does that count?) and the books... they're entertaining, but I often find a good HP fanfic much better. Dunno what that means, exactly. ^_^

Sirius's death REALLY made me cry. I read the part afterwards over and over and over. I just couldn't believe it. It's just one of those things that gets to me. Something about Harry and Buckbeak made me a little misty, though.
The Harry Potter books are full of tear-jerking moments. I guess I'm just a softie, though.

I never used to cry during movies or for books, but I've noticed that as I've gotten older, I've also gotten more emotional. I have never cried during any of the HP movies, but I bawled for chapters after the "death" of Sirius.

Now, if we talk LOTR, that's an entirely different matter. lol! ^^

I think I got a little choked up during the pages right after Sirius falls through the veil (Lupin..*sigh*), the very end of the scene where Dumbledore is apologizing to Harry, and then when Harry's just standing there, looking at the patch of grass which was the scene of Snape's worst memory, and cries without knowing it (did that scene even happen? uh oh).

I've only cried during one movie.. anyone see the end of Big Fish?

I am a cold, heartless bitch so I never cry when reading books or watching films. But I do admit... I cried during ROTK and once when reading it too, at the very end when... oh shit, spoiler coming up... when Sam says, "Well, I'm back." Only two times I've ever cried in a book/film.

The first time I read GoF, I got really choked up when Cedric died, but I dont think any tears actually fell.

In OotP I almost cried when I though Mr. Weasley was going to die and I sobbed like a baby when Sirius died.

The movies haven't made me cry, though.

Never got emotional in the movies but I usually don't cry in movies to begin with. I mostly teared up in OoTP. Especially during Molly's Boggart, thinking something could happen to Arthur, and Sirius of course.

I never cried in the movies. Then again, I didn't cry in the first three books either. I've cried in the last two definitely, so I might cry in the movies. ^^; I guess I'll have to see~~ I get really sentimental and attached to the characters.

I almost never cry during movies/books- I have only cried in TTT and RotK movies, and I was very tearful at the end of OotP, with Sirius' death and the Lost Prophecy

Another heartless one weighing in, haha... I rarely ever cry because of a book or movie, and even when I do, I don't tell anyone about it... so consider yourselves holders of sensitive info. ;)

Although I didn't actually cry, I got a bit misty-eyed when Harry saw a glimpse of Snape's abusive home life, and saw a young Snape, cowering and afraid, as his parents argued. Snape has constructed such elaborate walls around himself and his emotions, it was incredible and heartbreaking to see what's really going on under that greasy black hair.

The only Harry Potter book that has made me cry thus far is Order of the Phoenix. It wasn't Sirius' death, although I did feel rather choked up when that happened, but rather Harry's reaction to it.

I cried of laughter during Prisoner of Azkaban when sleeptalking Ron mentioned tap dancing spiders, but that isn't uncommon because I generally cry when I laugh really hard.

I cried through about half of OotP. It started when I thought that Arthur was going to die. It continued through, on and off to the end. As I dislike Sirius, I did not cry when he died. However, I did get weepy over Harry's angstfest afterward, especially with the mirror and Nick.

I cried in book3.. When Sirius was offering Harry to live with him. Hehe. It was touching. I only got teary-eyed during that scene in the movie.

I cried during Cedric's death. I don't think I would have initially, but I just had a very Cedric-like classmate die in a car accident two months earlier.

I think I may have cried when James and Lily came out of Voldie's (I still call him that, no matter what JKR says!) wand in GoF. I cried during the last few chapters of OotP every time I've read them. I remember the first time I read OotP. I finished it late at night and I was sitting in my computer chair and I was devestatingly sad throughout the whole end, crying a bit, and when it was over I just sat and sobbed. :( I'm very emotional and cry easily, and I was just so sad for Harry and Sirius and Remus, and basically all the good guys in the book.
Didn't cry during the movies, however.

The fourth and fifth books, for reasons that are probably quite well known. Cedric and Sirius dying, basically.

There are a few other times, though...for one, when the twins escape in OoTP, I cry with happiness. And then, when Harry's on his date with Cho, and she starts crying about everything, I cry because it's so sad and pathetic how lousy of a character she is...no offense to those who like her. ^^;;

the only time i've ever cried over something entertainment related was in 2nd grade when i saw Turner & Hooch (the part when the dog dies). oh, and when i finally saw my ultimate favourite band play my ultimate favourite song live (i waited about 6 years to see that happen), the song is just so beautiful and i was just so happy to be there i couldn't help it.

i haven't full out cried during the movies, only towards the end of chamber of secrets did i get all teary eyed .. but that was it.

the books are a completely different story. every single time i read the end of the goblet of fire when everyone comes out of voldemort's wand and when dumbledore makes the speech about diggory .. i cry. it never, ever fails. i bailed like a little baby at the end of order of the phoenix. each time. i don't know what it is. i had this conversation with my friend how i lack emotion with everything except harry potter. even in prisoner of azkaban, i cry. i can't remember if i cried the first time during SS and CoS .. i know i never cried when i read them over .. but not sure about the first. i've cried a few times with PoA, not so much. but the last 2 that are out .. i cry every time. i'm such a sap.
