Though at this moment I can't find the post where the idea came from... I'm gonna post anyways...

In OoTP (pg 622) when Dumbledore disappears it says: "Fawkes circle the office and swooped low over him. Dumbledore realeased Harry, raised his hand, and grasped the phoenix's long golden tail. There was a flash of fire and the pair of them had gone."

So, how did he do it? No disapperating in Hogwarts! Any theories?

I dunno... it has something to do with Fawkes, because that's how they got out of the Chamber of Secrets too (holding onto Fawkes and flying out).

Yay for your icon! I'm so pissed they were fired because they asked for more money. SOMETHING could've been worked out. I dunno what to do now. Grr!

Ugh, yeah... I know. There's a bunch more like it, some banners and a link to a petition at [livejournal.com profile] ssa_project if you want to check that out. Boo, CBS!

Fawkes is magical. He is like. TEH BESTEST EVER OMG. He can do what he wants whenever he wants because he's that cool.

Plus, Dumbledore is like, the most powerful wizard. I'm sure he can find ways to break the rules a little.

It has something to do with Fawkes I believe because he can disappear and stuff (haha very descriptive I know). I believe he delived a message to Molly Weasley that way.

It has something to do with magical creatures I bet because Dobby can disappear in Hogwarts as well.

(I say disappear rather than disapprate because I view it as two different things)

Remember in SS/PS when Dumbledore said something along the lines of "I don't need an invisibility cloak to be invisible"? I assume her has special Dumbledore powers that allow him to do this like Disapparate from Hogwarts.

I thought that when he said that it was because he's an animagus... but that's just my theory. =)
[identity profile] gramercy.livejournal.com on July 18th, 2004 11:16 am (UTC)
Couldn't he just use the "disillusionment" or whatever...? you know, the charm that makes you feel like something icy is running over you, and then you're invisible? That's what I thought he meant.
[identity profile] queen-medb.livejournal.com on July 18th, 2004 03:29 pm (UTC)
Yeah, he could. There's probably a million charms he could use to become invisible. I've just always believed he's an animagus bumblebee... so that's another idea.

Pulled out my trusty "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and found: "it can disappear and reappear at will"...

So, maybe since Dumbledore was holding on to Fawkes he disappeared with him.

I was just about to point this out, haha... I don't think Fawkes was disapparating so much as just using a natural ability.

Haha, I agree. *Nods*
