Petunia, WHY? He's your own flesh and blood--you're all he has. Knowing what kind of evil killed your sister,knowing that growing up unloved is the very thing that leads to that kind of evil, can't you see that you've done everything in your power to kill the love in Harry ? Are you trying to turn him into another Voldemort? Praise heaven that there were good people who loved him and taught him what it was like to feel loved. You certainly didn't. How can you live with yourself? How can you breathe in and out everyday without the guilt you carry for the way you treat your only nephew suffocating you? When you die, how will you face Lily and your parents when they ask you how well you cared for Harry? It would be much easier to face Vernon now and tell him you're going to start acting like a real aunt should act to Harry.

Sadly, I can see Petunia's logic in the situation. All of the suffering her (and Harry's) family has endured was because of magic (read: lord Voldemort). Her (flawed) reasoning was that if they kept Harry from interacting with the Wizarding World, it would keep the family safe.
