I posted this is my house community and it got some cool responses, but 3/4's of you didn't see it so here it is!

What's your magical parentage? (Pureblood, half-blood, Muggleborn, Squib) I'm half-n-half. My mom would be the witch my dad the lowly Muggle... O:-)

Rank the houses in the order you think you'd best fit into them:
1: Hufflepuff: I'm fierecly loyal and value fairness above pretty much all else.
2: Ravenclaw: I feel I have a pretty good intellect and sharp wit, i vaue intelligence after loyalty.
3: Slytherin: I'm cunning and slightly evil when crossed.
4:Gryffindor: I'm brave only when it comes to being loyal to my friends, I really don't think i'd fit well in there.

What do you think your animagus form would be and would you undergo the training it would take? I would undergo the training and I hope my animagus form would be a wolf as my loyalty would come into play and I can be very canine at times. I even growl at my computer when it doesn't feel like cooperating. ;-)

Where would you go on Hogsmeade Weekends? I'd spend my time with my friends in the Three Broomsticks and then probably window shop up Main/High Street. Is there a bank in Hogsmeade? If there is, i'd have to refill my store of money before setting out again.

If you could have one wizarding job, what would it be? I'd either be a Healer or a librarian. I'd love to work in Flourish and Blotts as I'm a bookworm, but I don't know how much work I'd actually get done.. As for the Healer bit, my name (Jason) means Healer in Greek/Ancient Greek, so It may very well be what i'm meant to do.

Hehe, this looks fun!

What's your magical parentage? (Pureblood, half-blood, Muggleborn, Squib)
Muggleborn. Very very Muggleborn.

Rank the houses in the order you think you'd best fit into them:
1: Ravenclaw/Hufflepuff: I was pretty much tied between these two houses when I submitted my application. I'm intelligent and motivated, but extremely loyal to my friends. I care about them more than anyone else. I'm kind and rather shy, but I love to work and solve problems. It's a toss up, and depends on the day.
3: Slytherin: I can be manipulative and sarcastic.
4:Gryffindor: I'm not brave at all, and have difficulty being loyal to those outside of my close circle of friends.

What do you think your animagus form would be and would you undergo the training it would take?
My animagus would probably take the form of a cat, as I like to go unnoticed and be sneaky. I would love to be an animagus and would do whatever training it would take.

Where would you go on Hogsmeade Weekends?
Shopping, than to Three Broomsticks with friends.

If you could have one wizarding job, what would it be?
Probably a professor at Hogwarts, because I want to teach other.

Cool quiz!

This is kinda fun.

What's your magical parentage?
Father is a wizard...mother is a very, very bitter squib.

Rank the houses
Obviously, I'm a Slytherin, so that's my top. But I see my personality as kind of an even mix of Slytherin and Ravenclaw with some Hufflepuff thrown in for good measure. I can be/have been brave. But not really in that selfless, reckless Gryff-y way.

Animagus
Lemur. Totally a lemur. I see myself as sort of cat-like...but I also know myself well enough to realize that my animagus form would be deeply embarrassing and not at all cool or dangerous.

Hogsmeade
I kind of like the idea of hanging out at the Hog's Head, though it might be smelly. The Three Broomsticks is a very Disney-fied pub in my mind. I feel like they might not allow swearing, betting, or billiards there. And I would like to have all three.

Job
This would probably go much like my muggle life has. Vacillating between healer and cursebreaker (read: archaeologist) in school). Realizing later that I make a much better journalist...though not of the Rita Skeeter variety.

Hee, much fun!

What's your magical parentage? (Pureblood, half-blood, Muggleborn, Squib) I'd like to be a pureblood. I have that arrogant streak in me. But, realistically (or as realistically as you can get) I'd be muggleborn.

Rank the houses in the order you think you'd best fit into them:
1: Gryffindor. I'm not extremely brave, but I'm not a complete wuss =D
2. Slytherin. I think the only reason I'm not in here is because I'm not very ambitious, but I have the other traits
3. Ravenclaw. Ahh I have my set of brains <3
4. Hufflepuff. I'm not too nice, and I'm very lazy XD

What do you think your animagus form would be and would you undergo the training it would take?/B> Ah, I have no clue. Probably a cat. They're cool, confident, arrogant, and agile. Yes, I would, it would be worth it!

Where would you go on Hogsmeade Weekends? The 3 broomsticks with my friends, and, of course, Honeydukes. Maybe just shop around for souveniers and things like that.

If you could have one wizarding job, what would it be? What do you call a Psychiatrist in the wizarding world?

What's your magical parentage? (Pureblood, half-blood, Muggleborn, Squib)
My parents are so hopelessly muggle...not that that's a bad thing...

Rank the houses in the order you think you'd best fit into them:
1: Ravenclaw: I'm a major bookworm and I love learning, school and going to lectures.
2: Slytherin: I can be quite cunning & ambitious.
3: Hufflepuff: Once you make it into my friends circle, I'm loyal to you.
4:Gryffindor: Although I would be brave if it came to helping out a friend, I'd honestly rather find a different option.

What do you think your animagus form would be and would you undergo the training it would take? I would definitely undergo the training. It would probably be very interesting. I'd prefer to be a cat but turning into almost anything would be cool...except maybe a dung beetle ;)

Where would you go on Hogsmeade Weekends? Shopping & the Three Broomsticks of course. That's a popular answer but its true.

If you could have one wizarding job, what would it be? I'd like to be a professor or maybe do something with the Ministry of Magic. Maybe dealing with Muggles?

What's your magical parentage? (Pureblood, half-blood, Muggleborn, Squib) I think I'd be a muggle. My parents are nowhere near the magical type.

Rank the houses in the order you think you'd best fit into them:
1. Gryffindor: I can be quite brash, especially when it comes to standing up for my beliefs in right v. wrong
2. Ravenclaw: Highly value intelligence and almost tied for this with Gryffindor when I was being sorted [I'm very Hermione-like, my friends make fun of me for it]
3. Hufflepuff: My friends + family loyalty... I would die for them... Though I think I would die to save *many* people, especially friends & family
4. Slytherin: I'm nowhere near the kind of person that could do anything to get what I wanted, and if that's a stereotype, I'm sorry, but that's what I think and thus why I could not fit there

What do you think your animagus form would be and would you undergo the training it would take? My animagus would probably be a lioness. Because I can be fiercely protective --- of people I love, of ideals, etc... And I'm very much a GR HEAR ME ROAR kind of person, but in an exuberant-nice way. I'm not sure if I would put in the time. I was going to say that I'm not patient enough, but then I realized I'm spending so much extra time in school in my RL that I must be some patient----so probably yes I would.

Where would you go on Hogsmeade Weekends? I'm not really the shopping type, so I'd prob hang out at the Three Broomsticks for a long while and do minimal shopping----unless it involved being able to buy books, because bookstores = steal my money.

If you could have one wizarding job, what would it be? I think I'd either be an Auror, because I desperately feel I must fight against what's wrong in this world, or a teacher because of the incredible positive influence you can have on students

What's your magical parentage? (Pureblood, half-blood, Muggleborn, Squib) I'm Muggle born. My parents really don't understand the magical world, but they are proud of me.

Rank the houses in the order you think you'd best fit into them:
1: Gryffindor - I've always self-sorted into Gryffindor, and it's where I've been sorted by two sorting communities. I'm passionate, caring, and willing to fight for my beliefs. Gryffindor traits are the traits I value most.
2: Ravenclaw - Everyone tells me I'm a brain, and they are right. Growing up I was in Gifted and Talented classes, I went to nerd camp for three summers (I took classes in the summer for fun). I would much rather learn something for interests' sake than for practicality.
3: Hufflepuff - I'm a fiercely loyal friend. I want things to be fair. I tend to be accepting of people until they give me reason not to be. But--I'm SO afraid of toil!
4: Slytherin - I'm just not all that ambitious nor all that selective of the company I keep. I can be cunning and sneaky if I have to be, but usually I'd rather not.

What do you think your animagus form would be and would you undergo the training it would take? Of course I'd undergo the training! Turning into an animal? Awesome! Although, I'm really unsure what form I'd take. Probably either a bird, or a cat.

Where would you go on Hogsmeade Weekends? I'd definitely be one of the kids hanging out at the Hog's Head. I'm the type of person who can't resist a sketchy dive of a bar. ;) Not to mention, it would have far more interesting characters to observe (I'm a people watcher). Also, I would probably visit the Shreiking Shack. I love haunted houses! Of course, I'd also be shopping, buying candy and joke stuffs and probably some books.

If you could have one wizarding job, what would it be? It would be really cool to be an Auror. Scary, of course, but I like to try to solve mysteries. It's weird because I'd never want to be in the Muggle equivalent (like Police or detective), but being an Auror would be so much more interesting! Otherwise, I would be a teacher. Preferrably of transfiguration, but I'd be willing to teach other subjects depending on what positions were needed.

What's your magical parentage?
Half-blood. Wizard father, muggle mother.

Rank the houses in the order you think you'd best fit into them
1) Ravenclaw
2) Slytherin
3) Gryffindor
4) Hufflepuff

What do you think your animagus form would be and would you undergo the training it would take?
I'd like to say cat, as I've got some of the characteristics (lazy, likes food, sleeps a lot, am not really much of a people person...) but I'm clumsy and not really much of a predator so it doesn't quite fit. I'd probably end up as a... turtle or something. As for training - if I'd get a guarantee that I'd be a cat or something equally interesting, sure. If I knew I'd end up a turtle I probably wouldn't bother.

Where would you go on Hogsmeade Weekends?
Honeydukes, Shrieking Shack, Three Broomsticks. In that order.

If you could have one wizarding job, what would it be?
Well, I'm studying to become a librarian, and since I have a feeling that wizarding books are a lot more interesting than Muggle ones I think I'll stick with that one.

Looks like fun, I'll give it a go!

What's your magical parentage? (Pureblood, half-blood, Muggleborn, Squib) Considering my family, I'd probably be a half-blood or a Pureblood. My dad's family is weird enough to be pure, and actually our last name is a very old name dating back to the time of William the Conqueror and actually has a motto which means "Without Stain", which has always sounded rather pureblood-ish to me.

Rank the houses in the order you think you'd best fit into them:
1) Slytherin: I'm known to be cunning and sarcastic and I'm a hugely ambitious person
2) Ravenclaw: I really do love to learn, I'm very curious about a lot of things
3) Hufflepuff: I've tried to get over it, you know, but I tend to lean to much towards being nice to people, even when I feel like slapping them in the face.
4) Gryffindor: I'm not brave at all, in fact I'll do just about anything to worm my way out of doing something that will be unpleasant. I am, however, very prone to fighting for what I believe in.

What do you think your animagus form would be and would you undergo the training it would take? I'm not quite sure about the training, I might undergo it, but it doesn't really seem to be my field of interest. As for the form, I'd probably be a cat, though I have noticed that I have a very serpentine giggle. I'm going to call cat because I'm very calm, content to be alone and take care of myself, only offering affection to those who take good care of me, but still with a superiority complex.

Where would you go on Hogsmeade Weekends?
I'd probably go and sit around in a pub or anywhere, eat some sweets from Honeyduke's and generally have long, interesting conversations with my closest friends. That's how my school-life is normally spent anyway.

If you could have one wizarding job, what would it be?
I think I'd like to teach at Hogwarts, possibly DADA, because I think I'd be good at it. I may be good at Potions too, or the practical side at least.

What's your magical parentage? (Pureblood, Half-blood, Muggleborn, Squib)
Half and half. I get the best of both worlds - gives me a step up than the Purebloods and Muggleborns.

Rank the Houses in the order you think you'd best fit into them:
Slytherin: I'm ambitious when it comes down to that, and most of the time I believe the ends justify the means. I let people underestimate me just because I think it's funny (but that's not a Slytherin-y trait is it...).
Ravenclaw: I'm intelligent compared to most people. I don't love to learn, but I love being challenged a step more than what I know.
Gryffindor: I take a stand in my beliefs and I don't waver in them. I lash out pretty harshly if I'm attacked.
Hufflepuff: I'm not extremely loyal to anyone, and it takes quite a lot for me to trust anyone. I'm fair to most, but I don't care if I feel you don't deserve it.

What do you think your Animagus form would be and would you undergo the training it would take?
I would definitely become an Animagus. I would be a Peregrine falcon, not just for my love of flying. They're not flashy, just like me (the underestimating thing). They're pretty flexible as to living arrangements as well, just as long as it's a high altitude. I'm flexible like them - just make sure it doesn't interfere with previous plans. When falcons spot their prey, they dive and attack them at very fast velocities (up to 80 mph) and kill the prey midair if need be. That would be me lashing out.

Where would you go on Hogsmeade Weekends?
Three Broomsticks, have a couple butterbeers, then walk around and enjoy the shops. Visit Honeydukes and spend all my money there, being the chocoholic that I am. Maybe look around in Zonko's.

If you could have one wizarding job, what would it be?
I would be an animal caretaker, much like Charlie Weasley. It has to be with dangerous animals, not the domestic type. Maybe I'll go to him and ask for recommendations. Working with dragons sounds fun.

[identity profile] kelleypen.livejournal.com on February 26th, 2005 05:42 am (UTC)
Magical parentage? I'm adopted. My birth mother is a professional storyteller--definitely a witch, my birth father (sperm donor) is pharmecuetical researcher--definitely a dark wizard. But of my adopted parents--my mom is a muggle, my dad was a wizard who found out his magical powers too late in life to develop them.
Houses: I really am a Gryffindor. My bravery may not be jumping into burning buildings to save babies, or diving out of airplanes, or winning the football game, but when it comes to fighting for the underdog, I'm fierce and impulsive.
second--Ravenclaw. I'm very creative and love metacognition and learning.
Third--Hufflepuff. I am somewhat loyal.
Fourth--Slytherin. I'm competitive, but mostly against myself, and I have an over-developed sense of fair play.
[identity profile] kelleypen.livejournal.com on February 26th, 2005 05:46 am (UTC)
hit the wrong button, here's the rest.
My animagis would probably be a raven. Ravens are tricksters and changlings in First Nations mythology. That would suit me.
In Hogsmeade I would mostly wander, speeding up or lingering as my interests led me. I'd want to sample the butter beer and the chocolate. I'd want to find an antique store and a book store. But I think I'd mostly play it by ear.
Wizarding Job? IS there an opening for another professor at Hogwarts?

What's your magical parentage? (Pureblood, half-blood, Muggleborn, Squib)
If we were to go by my own parents, I'd have a witch mother and a squib father - because my dad often likes to pretend he doesn't believe in things, even when he does...

Rank the houses in the order you think you'd best fit into them:
1: My first two are really closely linked because of the way that I piece them together, but I would have to say that I'm Slytherin above all. I'm exceedingly ambitious, good at being cunning and getting my way when it really matters, and I'm rather egocentric, truth be told.
2: Ravenclaw is a VERY close second. I've always had a passion for learning and being challenged. Hell, when I was a child, I read encyclopaedias to amuse myself. And National Geographic.
3: Gryffindor would be a third for me, because when I feel like loosening up, yes, I do know how to have fun. And I will defend my dearest of friends quite fiercely. I stand up for what I believe in and I don't back down.
4: Honestly, I have a share of Hufflepuff as well. More than I ever saw when I first came into the Potterverse. I'm loyal to my closest friends and loved ones, and I don't turn my back on them unless they've betrayed me themselves. I'm hardworking, and I don't mind toil when I get a sense of satisfaction from it down the line somewhere.

What do you think your animagus form would be and would you undergo the training it would take?
I would either be a Dove or a Cat. I have an affinity for doves that I just can't explain, yet I'm very catlike in my mannerisms - independent, contradictory, demanding of attention when I want it, and I tend to even sleep curled up - when I was 6 I almost got kicked off the bed when my parents thought that our cat had crawled up there...

Where would you go on Hogsmeade Weekends?
Everywhere. I'd work my way up the street and down it again.

If you could have one wizarding job, what would it be?
I'd like to be an unspeakable in the Dept. of Mysteries, I think.

What's your magical parentage? (Pureblood, half-blood, Muggleborn, Squib) Both of my parents would be wizards; however, I know my mom would be half because of her mother. (Think Aunt Marge to a degree here) My dad I'm not sure because his dad died while I was still rather young. I'd like to think that he would be a pureblood. So what would that make me? Three-quarters blood?
Rank the houses in the order you think you'd best fit into them:
1-Slytherin. I'm all about the snake. =) Cunning, subtle, ambitious. Yeah, that's me.
2-Ravenclaw. I highly value learning and intelligence in myself and others. I'm a very logical person and enjoy reading, so long as it's useful to me.
3-Gryffindor. I'm very brave in a more untraditional sense. I may be about self-preservation so I won't be the hero-type, but I'm very mentally and emotionally brave and rather stubborn.
4-Hufflepuff. I'm very hard-working and I don't care for people who don't earn what they work for. I like the sense of accomplishment that comes from doing your own work. However, if there's a shortcut, I'm definitely taking it, and I'm really only loyal when it conviences me. I see Hufflepuff as more selfless whereas I'm more selfish, I just don't seem to put off that vibe because I'm rather good at hiding it.

What do you think your animagus form would be and would you undergo the training it would take? There's no way I'd even have an animagus form, much less undergo training to develop something I don't have. I just don't see it being anyway useful to me. I would be Metamorphmagus though.

Where would you go on Hogsmeade Weekends? It would depend on what I felt like doing that day. I'm a planner though, so I'm sure I'd have the day mapped out to make sure that I could get everything in that I wanted to do.

If you could have one wizarding job, what would it be? Definitely professor. I have a degree in teaching and it's one of the few Muggle/Wizard cross-over jobs. I'd teach History of Magic if I had the choice, or Muggle Studies.

Ooh; this is nifty! :D

What's your magical parentage? (Pureblood, half-blood, Muggleborn, Squib) I'm so half and half. My father would be the wizard, I believe, and my mother the Muggle.

Rank the houses in the order you think you'd best fit into them:
1: Gryffindor; I used to believe that I truly belonged in Ravenclaw, but now that I've grown a bit, I have to say that Gryffindor is where I'm supposed to be. I admit that I'm brash and often act without thinking, and if there's a cause or thing that I'm in support of, I support it all the way. I'm not exactly brave in the sense that'd I'd face death, but brave in the fact that I stand up for myself a lot more, especially to those who get on my nerves.
2: Ravenclaw; in the long run, I'm intelligent, I like to think, and I'm witty - and I know it.
3: Hufflepuff; just for the sole reason that I'm pathetically loyal to friends.
4: Slytherin; I've got a bit of the Slytherin traits in me, but they don't shine quite as much as the others do. I do have ambition, and when provoked, I can be the most horrible person you'll ever lay eyes on, but the ambition is something I keep for myself, and people have learned not to provoke me so I don't get mad often.

What do you think your animagus form would be and would you undergo the training it would take? A horse, probably, and of course I'd undergo training! I say horse because while it looks like such a docile, calm and beautiful creature, it has the side where it can be wild and rough, uninhibited. They're loyal to their masters, and they've got to be brave animals in order for people to use them in war way back when.

Where would you go on Hogsmeade Weekends? Besides hanging out in the Three Broomsticks? I'd say I'd go with my friends to Honeyduke's and Zonko's - especially Zonko's, because really, my friends and I are so easily amused that we could probably spend hours upon hours in there.

If you could have one wizarding job, what would it be? Oh, jeez. I'd have to go with being an Auror, Healer, or Curse-Breaker. I really, really don't like sitting around at a desk job, and I'm a very hands on person, so I usually take that approach to life. That, and I suppose I have a thing for helping the greater good :D

Cool idea! I like this!

What's your magical parentage? (Pureblood, half-blood, Muggleborn, Squib) I'd be a half-blood. My mom would be a witch, and my dad would be a muggle.

Rank the houses in the order you think you'd best fit into them:
1: Ravenclaw: My strength in life is my mind. I am passionate about all types of education and learning. I fully believe that a person is just not complete if they are not educated.
2: Hufflepuff: I am very picky with my friends, but if you are one, than I am loyal to the end of the earth. I would do anything for those I care for.
3: Slytherin: I can be very ambitous. If I think I deserve something, I will do whatever I can to get it (in this I mean in terms of position in life, not so much material things).
4:Gryffindor: I can be brave, but it is definately not my strength. If one of my best friends is in trouble or being crossed, than I can be fierce, but that is more to do with my Hufflepuff side, not the Gryffindor side.

What do you think your animagus form would be and would you undergo the training it would take? I would love to be an animagus and would definately undergo the training. My animagus form? I am not really sure, though I would love to be some type of bird.

Where would you go on Hogsmeade Weekends? Flourish and Blotts. I'm a sucker for books and can spend hours in Barnes and Noble.

If you could have one wizarding job, what would it be? I would love to be a professor (after all, it is what I want to do in real life). I think living in Hogwarts and teaching would be incredible.

Oooh, interesting.

What's your magical parentage? (Pureblood, half-blood, Muggleborn, Squib) I think I'd be a half-blood, with my dad being a wizard from a pure-blood family (think more Weasleys than Malfoys) and my mom being a muggle.

Rank the houses in the order you think you'd best fit into them:
1: Ravenclaw - I am totally the academic type and I really do love learning and love to read. School is insanely important to me, and I work super hard to get the best grades I can, no matter what.
2: Slytherin - I normally get sorted either Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, but I think, after Ravenclaw, I'd fit into Slytherin best. I scheme, I plot (mostly in the quest for good grades), I'm an excellent liar (which helps in the cunning schemey plotting)
3: Hufflepuff - I'm loyal to my family and to certain close friends, but it's not an overwhelming trait. I'm not really a big group person. There's actually nothing I hate more than group projects.
4: Gryffindor - Just doesn't fit me. I'm definitely a coward. I suppose I could work up some bravery to defend family members, but my first instinct is always "run and hide because this is bad for me".

What do you think your animagus form would be and would you undergo the training it would take?
I don't think I'd be an animagus, because, let's face it, everyone can't be one. I don't think Transfiguration would be my particular specialty. But if I was an animagus, I'd probably be something like a squirrel, because I'm fairly petite, very jumpy, and I dislike being around large groups of people I don't know.

Where would you go on Hogsmeade Weekends? I'd probably hang around with my friends and go shopping and then maybe go to Three Broomsticks.

If you could have one wizarding job, what would it be? Well, I am considering becoming a teacher, so I think I'd like to teach History of Magic, so I could make it more interesting for the students. I'm sure Professor Binns knows a lot, but history is such a cool and interesting subject, and I hate that everyone in the books thinks it's so boring!

What's your magical parentage? Well...My Dad is a Pure-blooded Wizard, And A Graduating Ravenclaw. While my mom is a normal muggle. So I'm half-blooded.

Rank the houses in the order you think you'd best fit into them:
1: Hufflepuff: I'm a Hufflepuff True and True.
2: Ravenclaw: I believe I'm smart but I'm not Ravenclaw smart...but hey at least I can make conversation.
3:Gryffindor: I'm brave only when it comes to being loyal to my friends...everything else i'm a chicken.
4: Slytherin: I'm someone cunning but I lack ambition.

What do you think your animagus form would be and would you undergo the training it would take? I would go through animagus-training for many reasons but definetly because TRANSFIGURATION IS MY FAVORITE CLASS.
And I would want to be a Falcon because their graceful and I always wanted to fly.

Where would you go on Hogsmeade Weekends? I would definetly break into The Shreiking Shack with my friends. Plus Flourish and Blotts and The Three Broomsticks would be a very fun place to hang-out and talk or read a good book or two.

If you could have one wizarding job, what would it be? I most-likely would become a Professor, the class I would like to teach would be Transfiguration...maybe after Professor McGonagall becomes Head Mistress of Hogwarts.
