It all starts with So You Want to be a Wizard by Diane Duane (All the books are by her) which was published in 1985 and is still going strong today! The next book is Wizards at War and I can't wait!

If I could be any kind of wizard from any kind of fantasy book, I would be this kind of Wizard.

Just to show you this "other love of mine", I'm using my default icon now instead of the Puff one. It all started in my exchange year in the U.S.; at that time, the second season was running, and my host dad liked the show. Halfway in the season I joined him and thus became a huge fan. You can't imagine how happy I was when the series was released in Germany as well!
My favorite season is, still, the second - the one that started it all. But the sixth comes close, because evil Willow is just brilliant.

I can't wait for this movie. It makes me want to SQUEE. This is going to be one GREAT winter movie season. Anyway, I have read the books, too, but I saw the British movie of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe when I was younger and thought it was terrific!

I know! I saw the trailer at RotS and I almost peed in my pants with excitement!

The books are marvelous, and I've read them all many times. Even now that I'm old enough to pick up on the blatant religious overtones, I still adore the stories themselves.

I remember when PBS aired the BBC miniseries. I'd be waiting for it to come on for at least a half hour before it was scheduled.

Zenna Henderson's stories about The People. Not at all what you'd think of if I said "aliens with psychic powers secretly living on Earth"... there's a gentleness to these stories that helped hold me together through some rough times.


Kage Baker's novels about The Company. Why on Earth aren't these more popular? Again, a capsule description doesn't capture the feel of it. The protagonists are immortal cyborgs working for a company shamelessly profiteering the lost treasures of history nobly working to preserve samples of plants and animals that are destined to become extinct, artwork and literature fated to be destroyed or lost, and information on facets of society not recorded by history all for the right, which is to say astronomical, price. The process that makes Company operatives (which has to be done in early childhood; nearly all "recruits" are little kids who would otherwise have died) has the peculiar quirk of making chocolate a potent drug for them. How cool is that?

And they're neat books (and short stories).

I've read the first two of this series and terribly want to get around to buying the third, but I'm so broke. Actually, this series reminds me a lot of Harry Potter. I'm also writing something a lot like it, but that was fully not intentional on my part. >_>

Oh! Another I need to mention... Darkover! Oh, my beloved Darkover! Massive, sprawling series by Marion Zimmer Bradley set on a world ruled by a caste of red-headed telepaths... and, my fellow slash fanciers, same-sex liasons are canon. Just... just read it, guys. Get a copy of The Heritage of Hastur, or Stormqueen, or The Shattered Chain (there are other good places to start, those are just my recommendations) and prepare yourself for a new obsession.

Showing off my extreme dweebness! I may be a 20-year-old woman, but I just can't get enough of my Power Rangers. My favourite so far has been Power Rangers in Space, but I love Dinothunder and Mighty Morphin' and Ninja Storm too.

I couldn't get into SPD. I'd already watched Dekaranger, and found the characters and acting superiour there. With SPD following the same storylines, there wasn't any point to it for me.

I love Pratchett, plain and simple. I think his books are brilliant satire and they're incredibly entertaining too. His world is wonderfully creative and I think he has one of the most interesting styles of writing I've ever seen. I would give ANYTHING to be able to write like him!

And my favorite character is Lord Vetinari, although Vimes, Carrot (the whole Watch, really) and Cohen the Barbarian are close seconds. ^^

Mort is the one that made me fall in love with Discworld, but I prefer the Granny Weatherwax-centric books now. I have a special fondness for Lords and Ladies.

Pretty assassins, gorgeous voices, swords, angst, hot psychics, and a storyline that'd make anyone's head spin. Possibly one of the most cracktastic animes ever! Who else loves it? I fangirl this series in a big, big way. The fanfic makes my life worth living.

If you like Weiß, you should also try Meine Liebe. I saw the first four eps at Animethon last weekend, and it was amazing. Random German, pretty men, swords, and one sword-using pretty boy even has sister issues.

I used to like the series for what it was, as the action sequences were generally awesome, but an RP kind of ruined it for me. I now have a totally irrational hatred of Omi that makes me want to strangle things every time I see a picture of him.

The other characters are still okay, though.

This summer I've been re-watching the entire series. Right now I'm in the middle of season four. I have so much Babylon 5 love. The characters are wonderful, I adore the story arc... SQUEE!

My favorite race are the Narn.

And um... sometimes when I'm really being a dork, I try to sort the characters into their Hogwarts Houses.

I sort of fell out of love with season five. It didn't catch me the same way all the other seasons did. I mean, I still really liked it, but it wasn't OMGObsessiveLove!

Several years ago, Space did a 14 hour B5 marathon on Boxing Day. I literally watched the entire thing. I didn't even twitch, except at commercial breaks.

I have an obsessive love of Star Wars. THe movies, but *especially* the books. But only the Bantam ones. I read the first of the New Jedi Order. It made me cry. Why do stupid children named Anakin keep resulting in deaths of my favourite characters? (I believe that book is past the standard three-year spoiler rule.)

I'm currently re-reading the Jedi Academy trilogy, to set up a reading of "I, Jedi" due to reasons of extreme Corran love. I could live, breathe, and potentially take all required nutrition from the X-Wing series.

Star Wars books! I love those. I have like 30 of them, all in my bookshelf upstairs. I am a ridiculous dork, so I actually arranged them in chronological order. *is lame*

My favorites are the Timothy Zahn books, mostly the Empire trilogy. He's a brilliant writer. Hand of Thrawn duology was well-written, but I didn't like it as much as his first trilogy. I also like Courtship of Princess Leia. ^^

Because it's old school anime that I still love, even if I've realized how horrible it really is. My best friend and I met in the 4th grade by working on a project for gym class (yes, we had PROJECTS). We made a poster with a drawing of Sailor Mars on it. =)

Ahh, I have fond memories of Sailor Moon. I remember surfing through channels, pausing and going "this looks really weird" and then stopping and actually watching it... and realizing that, if not the best series ever, it was definitely fun. And it led to my anime obsession, so...

I've recently stumbled across an author who blows my mind with her books. Her genre is considered Paranormal Romance. Imagine this: An immortal race, dying out because of wars and vampire hunts. The Males of the Carpathian race turning into vampires because the are seduced by power and haven't found the one female, their lifemate, that will keep them tied to the light. A secret society, brainwashed by a vampire, trying to complete the anihalation of the Carpathian race. Although with every book, we learn that more and more carpathians still exist.

This series has had me captivated for almost 4 months, so you can tell how much I love the books.

Okay, now I'm not talking about the '70s/80s edition, but the one that was spawned from the 2003 miniseries and features a female Starbuck, Cylons who look like humans, a man named Gaius who talks a hot blonde in his head, and the one and only hot Apollo Adama. Let's not forget the innumerable others, such as Laura Roslin, James Edward Olmos as Cmmdr Adama and so much more.

It's a great show and I fangirl it like a felon. Particularly Apollo (*sigh*). Who's with me?

My roommate (cherrysk8fan and I have to turn off all the lights in our room when we're watching lost because a lot of the scenes are so dark (as in they take place at night) and otherwise we have a huuuuuge glare.

When the numbers showed up on the hatch and the scary scary music, we had to lock the door, shut the window, turn on all the lights and turn up some music. We were that freaked out.

Of course, we love that show. NO CHARLIE! NO CRACK!

Now, I'm not talking about the 2003/miniseries edition, but the original, classic BSG. :-)

My introduction to BSG was in the early 90s, from a novellization my dad had. I was a few pages into it, reading all about this nice truce with the Cylons, and my uncle says, "Have they Cylons destroyed all the colonies yet?" Talk about spoilers!

On another note, it was during a marathon veiwing of the DVD box set that I realized I needed another hearing test. I was trying to lip read the Cylons! It wasn't working too well. ;-)

Also? Starbuck was my first book crush, and Starbuck/Boomer were my first 'ship.

Yeah, I much prefer this one over the new one. I would sit next to my dad and watch it. The funny thing about it is, my Fiancee, James, has the original comic book for it. I so loved Starbuck... Nothing could stop me from watching it. Not even school.
