We've all talked about what our favorite and least favorite books are in the HP 'verse, but what are your favorite moments? What was the exact moment you knew you were in love with this series and world that J.K. Rowling created?

Mine was when she wasn't afraid to kill off the last remaining link Harry had to his father. Sure, there's Remus Lupin but they were never as close as Sirius and James. The gumption it took to actually traumatize Harry even more killed me. Crimity, it made me sob for a half-hour. But still, I knew I would stick to this series.

Wow, I've had lots of moments where I had to just sit back and say, "I love you, Jo Rowling!" But I think the one that really, truly got me was in HBP, when we found out that Severus was the Half-Blood Prince. Of all people Harry would ever expect or guess who the Prince could be, Snape is the very last. I mean, Snape probably wouldn't have even been on the list of potentials that Harry has. That was just a phenomenal thing, making such an important "character" - one who helped Harry's reputation and grades and improved his morale, etc. - the one character he truly despises and who despises him. Just amazing. Had the action at that point in the book not been so fast-paced, I would have put the book down for a small bit of jubilation. :-D

I think it was reading the Goblet of Fire in a whole day. I had my food, drinks and whatever put in front of me but it took me so long to eat or stuff because I HAD to finish this book.

It was then - that I was willing to forgo a whole day of doing whatever, to read this book? Yeah. Definitly that.

Yeah, I did that too. Of course, that made me decide that when OotP came out, I wouldn't try it again. ;)

My favorite moment is the moment just after Harry wins the Quidditch Cup in Prisoner of Azkaban. Both Oliver Wood and Professor McGonagall run to him, and they're crying, and then he says something about how at that moment, he could produce the world's greatest Patronus.

I love that moment because it is soooooo rare for Harry to actually be happy in the books. He's always "okay" but he usually has this "thing" hanging over him because he always has to worry about Voldemort. But in that moment--he gets to be a kid. He gets to be happy and giddy and elated and he doesn't have a care in the world, if only for that moment.

Also, I love that Oliver finally got to win the cup before he left. :-D
