It's getting tiring. And it especially annoys me that Dan's getting naked is getting more air time on my f-list among HP fans than the book coming out in July. The day the news of the release came out there was a smattering of posts about the book but the day the first naked pictures of Dan came out my f-list exploded with it. It's disappointing.

He's only afew years younger than me, but given his age I still feel ike a pediphile. Really, he's not the first actor to drop his draws and he won't be the last. I think people are making such a big deal out of it because he already has been somehow type-cast as Harry Potter. This is the little boy we saw grow up from Philosopher's Stone to the soon-to-be-released Order of the Phoenix, after all.

As for me? I keep my friend's list tiny as I only write about my life in my journal and prefer to only read about other people's. These communities are how I get my Harry Potter fix. ;)

It's not really that he's getting naked that bothers me. I'm fine with that part. It's just that everyone seems to foaming at the mouth over it in excitement. I went over to my mom's house the other weekend and my sister comes running up to me with a picture of it and before she even said hello to me, I had this picture shoved under my nose, and that seems to be the general reaction to it. It's a naked man, that's not really news. Or maybe I'm a cynic. ;)

I actually am a little disturbed by everyone finding pictures of his scrawny naked body attractive. If he actually wants to do it, then fine, but personally I'd rather he put some clothes back on and went back to playing at acting. I'm really torn about this. I personally have no interest in seeing Dan shirtless EVERYWHERE. It kind of pisses me off that there are all of these fangirls going so excited because he's naked and they all want to go see Equus because of it. At the same time, Equus is SUCH a good play that it totally makes sense that Dan wants to do it and it really is a good opportunity for him to branch out and it really IS a good play. So I'm torn. Still, we don't need to see all that MUCH of him. Really.

I really do think it's fantastic that he's branching out and not letting himself get type cast as Harry Potter. I'm happy for him for that. But I said a little futher up, it's really disappointing that my f-list is exploding over these pictures but I only saw a smattering of posts when the new title came out and when the release date came out. It makes me feel cynical that a lot of these fans aren't really fans for the books for the boys.

I have not seen the picture of Daniel Radcliffe's ass nor I have I personally heard that much about him in Equus because I usually ignore people who freak out over such things. I *am* tired of hearing "omg Harry Potter is going naked!!1!" Because it's -Daniel Radcliffe- an ACTOR. He's not Harry Potter and he can't live his whole life as him. I'm sure he has and will hold the character close to his heart but he needs to branch out and do other things to be taken more seriously as an actor. I would die so much inside if I saw him or any of the Harry Potter kids in a 'Where are they Now?' or one of those depressing E! True Hollywood stories where they show how big child stars turned to drugs and ruined their lives and stuff. I don't see that happening to them though.. they've got good heads on their shoulders.
But yes back to Daniel! I say good for him for trying not to be typed cast and such. Some may say it's a "too big and drastic" jump from Harry Potter but in Hollywood you either have to go big or go home. He's obviously doing stuff that we can't forget!

I don't think there really is such a thing as "too big and drastic" when it comes to Hollywood. It seems like the more drastic you go, the bigger your name gets and even bad publicity seems to be good publicity. Not that that's a good thing though.
