Hogsmeade weekend is giving me a good break from housework and yardwork...a chance to sit in the AC and cool down between tasks.

What is the hardest type of work you have ever done? What type of spells do you think could have made that work easier?

Hmmm. I think that I would have to go with the summer I spent sweltering in a non-air conditioned airplane hangar in Miami. I had to re-file hundreds of airplane blueprints it was hot, sweaty work.

Another one would be the times that I worked (also in the yucky Miami heat) the flea market on the weekends with my father.

Is there a spell to make the weather cooler? If not - then a good "Accio fan" would have helped!

Wow. My friend and I cleaned out her swimming pool by hand. I mean, it was nasty! Things were green and brown and black and growing in there! I think that if we would have had a Scorgify spell thinks would have been a lot easier, and we wouldn't have gotten those massive sunburns!

The hardest work I've ever done was setting up and tearing down a store. I worked as an assistant mananger and later a store manager for a halloween store and we had to set up everything on our own. The only thing that was done for us was we had a crew come and put our frames together that we hung our product on. And even some of those we helped put together.

We had to unload the trucks on our own, figure out where everything was going to be placed, sort through all the boxes and bring them to each section, and then put everything up on the walls. At the end of the season we had to sort everything again and get it ready for inventory (the small things we had to inventory ourselves which was a PAIN), load it into boxes once inventory was done, load the trucks, and then thoroughly clean the store.

It took about two weeks to set up and we only had a week to tear down. It was some of the most frustrating work I've ever done.

It would have been a lot easier if we could use the pack spell that Tonks used in OotP to pack all of Harry's things. It also would have been nice to have a scourgify spell handy because mopping a 2,000 square foot building is not fun.

well um I'm you're typical lazy Gryffindor so I haven't done much work. Moving a 20+ boxes from the attic to the garage was a big pain. Painting the 2 car garage wasn't much better lol

The hardest work I've done would have to be working on a dairy farm. Shovelling slurry around is both back-breaking and fairly disgusting :/

It would be nice to be able to use a cleaning or vanishing spell rather than shovelling it all by hand. And it'd certainly be cleaner than we got them!

It's not the hardest work I've done but I would really love a spell that rakes the leaves from my front yard!! Or make the trees not drop leaves at all. I do not like raking leaves that falls onto my yard or the road, all the while shivering in the cold wind and keeping an eye out for cars!

Mucking stalls at a local stable in the middle of the summer in AZ. It was hot, sweaty, smelly, involved heavy lifting and was dangerous since a few of the horses were ill-mannered studs. (I ended up biting one to prove a point - different story!) A charm that stopped your nose from working would have been heaven. The other issues can be fixed with weather and smaller loads, but nothing gets rid of the smell of horse urine. X.x Blech. If I didn't love the things so much...
