Everyone at Hogwarts has probably tried to conquer the elusive dorm stair problem!

So here's your turn, what would be your plan of action to get to the opposite sex's dorm? It can be as serious, logical, humorous, and outlandish as you want it to! GO WILD!

I think I would try to fly my broom up to their window outside. And then of course bounce off the window because I bet they have spells to prevent against that too.

EDIT: Okay so I was a complete ditz and forgot that the boys dorms don't have the same protective thing as the girls...but for fun's sake, lets say that they were the same as the girl stairs. How would you get up?

That would be so funny if they didn't! Imagine if some girl in lust just changes and then ends up in the guys bed and sees this guy looking down at him and is like, "Hi hunny!"

Well! So glad you asked! It would take research. I would analyze each person who lives in the dorm with my lovey so see if they'd be the type to report me for going in.

My super stealthy plan:
Throw cookies everywhere to distract everyone then jump in boy's bed and close curtains. Voila. I am invisible!

My super awesome plan for boys who won't tattle: Bring other girls so that the guys won't care that I'm there. They'll all be...er...distracted.

HAHAHA that sounds super fantastic! I forgot that they never mentioned that the guys stairs were charmed or not. That would be awesome though.

I'm sure the other boys wouldn't mind with girls there. Though with boys you could probably just bring them a few pounds of their favorite food that they would shut up and love you for eternity. They're just that easy.

And that was totally not supposed to sound dirty. At all. Ha.

According to Hogwarts: A History, the founders believed that girls were more trustworthy than boys, so that while the girls' staircase is enchanted to prevent boys from getting in, the boys' staircase does not carry a reciprocal enchantment (OP17).

Thank you, HP Lexicon. XD I would just give my beau a broom and tell him to disillusion himself and fly through the windows. My roommates would be doing the same, so there would be no risk of someone narcing to my HoH. XP

lol yea I would just walk up the stairs too because of what

reblsocr19 said but if that didn't apply I'd just try a levitating charm on myself so I would just float up and above the stairs

I would try . . . walking up the why bother with polyjuice potion when you can just try and sneak up there with your boyfriend :) Honestly, around fifth year, aren't people making out everywhere? They must not do it in the common room! JK is obviously ignoring 16 year old's sexual tension.

Haha yah I forgot that point about the boys staircase...but if they were charmed to be the same then it might not work so well. ;D

I know! In high school there were some that weren't open, but there were some hardcore people who sat there and were oblivious to the world around them. Either that or they have a pretty good spell that can charm them to be invisible or something.

As a few other people have said, the first thing I thought of was Polyjuice Potion. But I have to agree with others that the stairs might actually notice the magic used, but it doesn't hurt to try.

I'd go up the stairs on all fours. I don't usually walk up stairs; I lope.

Were I a guy, I'd just ask the girl to meet me in my bed. No point in wasting energy going to her room if she could easily come to mine! hee.

HAHAHHAH Oy, this is one thing I RP all the time at

hih_thegame! Girls can just walk right on up the stairs to the boy's rooms, but boys have to be a bit more creative.

My main character's best friend, a guy, has both tried to fly in through the window, and once was most successful by propping a desk up and climbing over it to reach the door :P
