If you were in Harry's position just before he looked into Dumbledore's pensieve, would you have done the same, or would you have witheld your curiosity and not looked. I think I probably would've been unable to resist, myself. Pensieves are fascinating!

Oh I would have looked. I'm a very curious person and I must know how everything works. Even when I found out what it does I'd still go back and try to sneak in and see what else is in the pensive

Curiosity killed the cat. I'd rather not know, so I wouldn't look.

Are you kidding, I am super nosy. I would have looked in a NY minute!

Um, I would have been scared to freaking death. Knowing what Harry knows of the magical world, I would never have touched something cool-looking without knowing what its function is. Probably, I would have waited until Dumbly came back and made some passive comment like, "That's a pretty shiny bowl you've got there...." Of course I'd be curious, but I wouldn't want to be rude and ask outright, either.

I'm probably messing this one up, but he already knows what it does from seeing Snape's, doesn't he? Or is that later? *needs to re-read the books*

That's later, I believe. Although another good question! Would you have looked in Snape's Pensieve? I say yes, cause of the aforementioned horribly nosy thing.

Ach, okay. I'd still have looked in Dumbledore's though, I think. Snape's? Not so certain. My sense of self-preservation may have kicked in when facing Snape's wrath rather than Dumbledore's twinkle.

Yeah, Snape is rather terrifying. It would have been a tough call, my self preservation warring with my horrible nosiness.

Yeah, I think it'd be one of those times where I spend so long arguing with myself that by the time I'd decided, Snape would've come back.

HA! Me too. Or else RIGHT when I made up my mind to look Snape would pop into the Pensieve, and kill me with cockroaches.

Haha yeah, knowing my fantastically bad timing I can see that happening. I can also see Snape having this little army of trained cockroaches that he can use to kill unsuspecting students...

EEEEEE. Oh god, cockroaches are my biggest wussy fear. *shudders*

I would have looked. I'm way too curious not to try and find out. And just the sparkles and shimmer, too pretty not to investigate

of course i would look! Dumbledore's too mysterious, he should share his secrets! If he doesn't share willingly, I'll just help myself and grab his pensieve!
