HMMMMM I wonder what percentage of the livejournal Harry Potter fandom actually are R/S fans... it would be interesting to know!
HiH is pretty much the only thing HP I do online that DOESN'T directly have to do with R/S :)
And yes, it is lovely to find others who appreciate how utterly made for each other the boys are ;) hehe.

Very very true! Though I think its likely that a fair number of people might read Shoebox but not be THAT into the pairing. 'Cuz really it's a fantastic thing all on its own even without taking into consideration that its R/S.
But it does an excellent job at spreading the love ;) hehe.

Their love IS canon! One of my best friends doesn't understand R/S and it upsets me! Not only will she not admit that it's canon, but she thinks it's a silly idea all together. She says that saying they're together takes away from their friendship. And then her boyfriend pretty much just echoes what she says as if he thought of it himself... and it's frustrating. I don't know why everyone can't love and accept their relationship for the reality that it is!! hehe.
Or at least smile and nod when I talk about it because they make me happy :(

First of all, pretty awesome that you had those off hand. And I've never read either, so YAY!
Secondly, I'm sitting here at work reading them rather than being productive. Haha, probably not so good :)

I still have quite a bit of the first to read, and I will sprinkle in some actual work here and there... and if I think it would go over OK I might send them to her :) (though the edit at the top of the first one claiming defeat due to the canon of Remus/Tonks won't really help.. maybe I will edit that out, haha)

AND.. your comment about "the strongest relationships are rooted in deep friendship." reminds me of something that might actually help me... she told me recently about something she had been thinking about, and she believes that we all have several soul mates, and among all the lives we may lead, that she believes that the same souls will always find their way to us, in one form or another, and in one relationship or another. That in one life someone may be your friend, another your lover, and another family. And that you can love them just the same, and it's just the physical attraction that makes any difference among your love and friendship towards a person. SO I should use that against her and say, so if they do have this amazing relationship/friendship/connection, whose to say they didn't have physical attraction too? There's nothing to prove otherwise at least. :)

I agree that it's completely plausible for Remus to have been with Sirius and then later with Tonks. And people believe different things- how much he did or did not love her, and what their relationship was really like. But I don't see any problem with the idea of him having loved both of them. Obviously he may have had more time with Sirius (though maybe not), and more time thinking about him than he did have with Tonks. Plus his feelings about making a mistake by becoming a father must have caused a lot of problems between the two. But Sirius and Tonks are both terrific characters with a lot in common. I can see Remus liking them both :)
It is quite interesting how we really DONT see anything about Sirius' relationships or even attraction to others, and yet it seems like so many fan fics have Sirius as the playboy.

Hahaha, I don't really keep up on what JKR has said in interviews and what not :) That makes perfect sense. So we know he's attractive and that therefore others would be interested in HIM, but no proof that he was ever interested in anyone else... except Remus ;)

Do you know if there is anything that gives the idea (either clearly or just a suggestion) that Remus didn't have a decent relationship in the 12 years Sirius was in Azkaban? I'm not very good at remembering specific things from the books...
I wonder if Remus was only able to move on from Sirius after he died because A) Remus knew that was IT this time and he couldn't keep waiting on an off chance B) That they had some sort of closure, and a discussion on the issue. I can imagine if Remus hadn't been able to move on, and Sirius telling him that he could have and that if something happened to him that he wanted him to...
Which of course adds fuel to the fire of how upset Remus was about the baby and being with Tonks. One of the things he could very well have been panicking about is Sirius.
