How many situations will there be total outa interest?

Sirius Black went through with being the secret keeper.

He clearly would have died to protect James, Lily, and Harry. Perhaps Dumbledore would have found a way to destroy the horcruxes and defeat Voldemort, or maybe James would have once he found out what had happened (I can't imagine him being ok with the fact that his best friend died so that he could hide).

These are just plot bunnies in disguise, aren't they?

Sirius Black wasn't the kind of man to shirk off his duties so he decided to be the proper secret keeper.

Because he was such a loyal friend Lily and James Potter survived and ran with the order into a new war. When Trelawney gave the prophecy no-one understood who it was meant to be for.

Harry Potter grew up with two loving parents and went on to become friends with Draco Malfoy as the Malfoy and Potter families where closely linked.

He was popular but not famous and lived a happy life filled with war and death, yet had a set of parents who loved him so.

If Voldemort had never found Lily and James, obviously Harry would have never become the Chosen one. Instead, Neville Longbottom would have taken his place and we would have an entirely different story in our hands.. but not necessarily a bad one! :)

I like to think that they would have all survived, at least for a while, but there probably would have been a lot more disastrous consequences in their future. It'd be hard to hide forever, esp if they could play a part in getting rid of Voldemort.

Harry's parents would've survived and Harry would never have married Ginny because of the creepy likeness to his mother (especially when he's left the toilet seat up).

Ing//Hufflepuff

Peter gives Sirius up. Sirius laughs in the face of the DL. It starts a huge battle with another Dumbles/Voldie face down, and Voldie rethinks Harry being the chosen one...

Aside from all of the aforementioned effects, Hagrid wouldn't get to ride on Sirius's motorbike, and therefore he'll have to purchase one of his own... after selling his ~*~services~*~ in Knockturn Alley.

This is EXACTLY what the DEs suspect! Bellatrix tries torturing the secret out of him, fails, and then drags him over to 12 Grimmauld Place... where his mother, through screaming, forces the secret out of him.

The war goes on as usual, except EVERYONE hates Sirius from day one.

William//Slytherin

The Longbottoms are killed and Voldy grows in power. Dumbledore finally figures out the Horcrux dealie, but not before Voldy has taken over wizard and muggle Britain and the death eaters have moved into Europe. Sirius and Lupin succeed in destroying all but one horcrux before being murdered. James finally leaves his family and finishes off the last, killing Voldemort. However, Snape has become Voldy's right hand man and an equal in power. He swiftly does away with James and Imperios Lily into marrying him and indefinitely continues to curse her. Snape helps raise Harry, who becomes heir to a death eater controlled Europe. Finally, Muggle and Wizard forces from the outside infiltrate and initiate World War III. Snape and Harry are taken down. Lily is freed from her Imperio curse and is driven insane by the knowledge of her cursed years and the death of her son, ending up at St. Mungo's (which amazingly survived the war), for the remainder of her life.

Allie//Gryffindor

There would totally be an exciting chase scene with the Death Eaters and Voldemort going after Sirius who would be zooming away on his flying motorcycle.

Marissa/Gryffindor

Wizards never separated themselves from Muggles.

They continued through the centuries as strange hybrid Siamese twin sort of creatures, with three legs, two arms, two heads and a shared torso.

Sorry, from the way it was phrased, that was my first thought.

No one doubted Harry when he said Voldemort had returned.

The ministry would've put all their effort into catching Death Eaters, making friends with the giants, and keeping the Dementors out of Voldemort's hands. Doubtlessly they would've been met with only limited success, as the Death Eaters were pretty damn good at what they do, and I can't see many of them getting caught. But they certainly would've had a harder time infiltrating the ministry, with everyone on guard. I guess it would have ultimately been a lot more like the first war: some Ministry wizards would be put under the imperius curse, and some Death Eaters would be caught. Ultimately, the wizarding world has one weapon they didnt have last time: Harry Potter. Now that Harry would be at work destroying horcruxes, and Voldemort would be looking for Harry, the good side would have a greater chance at winning for good.

Eliza/Gryffindor

The Marauders never made the Marauders Map.

Instead, they decided to spend the school year working on ways to improve their grades, and ended up being the first four way tie for Head Boy. Sirius, however, still claimed the title of Head Marauder, though this claim was fiercely disagreed with by James.

Kimberly/Ravenclaw

Nagini still bit Severus Snape, but it was 'just a flesh wound'.

The bite activated Snape's hidden transformative powers and he became a snake/vampire/werewolf hybrid. He later starred in the wizarding world's version of Twilight and played both Edward and Jacob.

Shannon // Ravenclaw

Harry was sorted to Slytherin.

Draco was sorted Gryffindor, and the rivalry remained. In later years, they were able to overcome their differences just long enough for a torrid affair.

Kimberly/Ravenclaw

Harry had eaten the love potion laced candies instead of Ron.

I'm not sure how well Ron would've handled the situation. He probably would've realised something was off, but he might have just let Harry be for the lulz of it. Oh he might be a little shocked at first, and protective of his sister, but I think Ron's not so thick to not notice something's wrong. Hopefully he would've just kept Harry safely confined until the effects wore off ...

Of course if this happened, Harry never would've gone to Slughorn and there wouldn't have been occasion for Slughorn to offer the tainted drink. The bottle may very well have made its way to Dumbledore. We all know that Draco's efforts have been very half-assed though, so it'd be highly unlikely--I'd say impossible--for the drink to have injured or killed Dumbledore.

Oh! But without Ron injured and incapacitated in the infirmary, he may very well have stayed with Lavender a good deal longer. Maybe he would've even eventually come to like her. Hermione and Ron would have a falling-out, the trio would fall apart, and the events of the Deathly Hallows never would've taken place. Voldemort would win, Harry would die, Hermione would die, and Won-Won and Lav-Lav would get married and have children.

Voldemort winning? Hermione dying? Ron and Lavender?!
Clearly this proves Romilda Vane is evil.

Draco Malfoy killed Albus Dumbledore.

He would have later comitted suicide by jumping off of the Astronomy Tower. But not before having a crazy affair with Harry Delusional wut?

The Hogwarts founders all agreed that Salazar Slytherin's idea to only allow pure-blood wizards to attend was awesome.

Hermione wouldn't have existed. D: Well, she would've, but she wouldn't be mentioned in the stories. And that, is true woe.

Victor Krum wouldn't be. This would take a lot of exitement and fun out of the world.

Harry and Ron never discovered Lockhart's 'secret'.

Lockhart never hit himself with Ron's broken wand, and went on to publish Bantering with Basilisks, an instant bestseller. However, word began to circulate about his horrible teaching at Hogwarts, and Rita Skeeter began investigating. She discovered his secret, and wrote a tell-all that hopelessly tarnished Gilderoy's reputation. Woe.

Eliza/Gryffindor

Fenrir Greyback never became a werewolf.

Well then, Lupin never would have been bitten, so the need for the Marauders to become animagi would never have arisen. Considering that he wouldn't have been a werewolf, Sirius wouldn't have mistrusted Lupin during the first wizarding war, and would have told him that Peter became the Potters' new secret keeper. When the Potters were attacked, Lupin would have known that it was not Sirius, but in fact Peter who betrayed them. Sirius probably wouldn't have gone to prison, because there would have been evidence to support him.

Furthermore, Peter would not have been able to escape by turning into a rat, so the Order would have been able to find him and send him to Azkaban, where he likely would have talked about Voldemort in return of SOME sort of favor because Pettigrew is a weasel like that.

Considering that there's nothing to say that the protective shield from Lily's sacrifice wouldn't have existed, Harry still would have had to live with the Dursleys, but surely Sirius Black (and Lupin himself) would have found sneaky ways to worm themselves into Harry's life. Perhaps as a neighbor, or something else like that. Or maybe just by scaring the Dursleys into treating him right - so Harry never would have been the boy under the stairs.
