I don't know if this has any historical merit in the long run, but much of history is discovered by analyzing patterns, such as realizing that a goblin war almost always begins when one goblin claims to have proprietorship of an item that actually belongs to another goblin. Oh, sorry, right, I seem to have forgotten my train of thought. But, it has been suggested that there is a link between four students recently petrified. I looked into this and all I could find was that only one of the four students was a prefect. By which I mean, only one of them had the key to the prefects' bathroom. I think it's safe to assume that it was the student who was petrified in the prefects' bathroom.
