Sirius lives!
Since the Half-Blood Prince Theory thread has turned to talking about Sirius living and if he's coming back or not, I decided I should make a post Dedicated to talking about Sirius and our theories about him coming back and if he'll be the same. What IS the shroud? CAN he come back from there? Only JK Rowling can answer these!

Personally, I refuse to believe he's gone. I wub him. Anyway, so here it is...a post dedicated to our beloved Sirius.

*Comes running in*

"Sirius, my beloved Siruis, where have you gone!?!"

Er, um... my thoughts on this. I still think that since she didn't out right have him killed, that there still is a chance he may come back in one form or another. He was such a great character. Whereas I know that in war people die and nothing brings them back, this is a magical world and I think Jo left it open for something truly magical to happen.

Bring him back PLEASE! Please!

My question is... why would they go through all the trouble of giving us the hope that we'll see Sirius again (aka, the entire conversation with Nick, Luna, and the breaking of the mirror scene) in SOME form... if we're never going to see him again. Maybe Harry goes to wizard-heaven at the end and DOES see him. And his parents. *just kidding!*

Actually, I hate to say this, but it seems like that is where this may lead. Harry saw him reunited with his family in the Mirror of Erised. Ron saw him as head boy, Quidditch Captain, and holding the Quidditch cup. He is already a prefect, a step to being Head Boy, he is on the team and was carrying the quidditch cup. We know they will need a new Captain next year. And, he was spectacular during the final game. I have this horrible feeling that what if Dumbledore was not totally honest, or completely coincidental, and what they saw in the mirror will come true. Harry will be "reunited" with his parents (eek, I hate thinking that) and Ron will "outshine all his brothers." Creepy.

He's not dead. He's pining. Pining for the fjords.

...

Honestly, I think he's coming back. Jo said that one character dies, and another character dies, not Sirius.. Then again.. Gah. He's not dead.

I was looking around at a community on here and saw an icon that truly made sense.

It basically said the following:

No one was supposed to survive the dementors, he did
No one was supposed to escaped from Azkaban, he did
People say he says dead, we'll see

I don't think a little peice of fabric is going to stop Sirius Black from returning to the story!! :-)

If we ever see Sirius again, what form will he be in?

Jo Rowling: I couldn't possibly answer that for fear of incriminating myself.

Will the two way mirror Sirius gave Harry ever show up again?

Jo Rowling: JK Rowling replies -> Ooooo good question. There's your answer.

Why did Harry have to forget the mirror he had been given by Sirius in 'Order of the Phoenix'?

Jo Rowling: I can’t give a full answer to this, because it is relevant to books six and seven. However, the short answer is that Harry was determined never to use the mirror, as is clearly stated in chapter 24: ‘he knew he would never use whatever it was’. For once in Harry’s life, he does not succumb to curiosity, he hides the mirror and the temptation away from himself, and then, when it might have been useful, he has forgotten it.

The mirror might not have helped as much as you think, but on the other hand, will help more than you think. You’ll have to read the final books to understand that!

I think he's alive. If you guys have time, you should definitely read this:

and

I kept wondering about why Jo Rowling mentioned Stubby Boardman so much. I think this might be it.

That is really interesting. The stuff about Bode is a bit of a stretch, tho. And her saying the thing about not wanting to incriminate herself, he could "show up" in pictures (like Sirius's grandfather), Harry could have a dream/premonition thing, he could stumble on old letters or letters/journal that was intended for him later. There are countless possibilities for him to return that have nothing to do with him being brought back to life, especially if she wants to hit home the point that sometimes death is sudden, which is true and an issue many people have to learn to deal with. This is just my devil's advocate, don't get hopes up too much comment. I SO love SIrius and want him to come back. I also want a prequel of what happened to the Marauders during their school years, cuz that would be cool, but doesn't look like that will happen, either.

Yes! Yes! Yes! All of the scenes with him when he was younger; the one with Snivellus and the one at the O.W.L.s made me so giddy. That would be so awesome. Or even if Harry finds some pictures of him when he was younger. Which leads to another question, If Lily hated James so much, why did they get married? How did they get together?

Personally I don't think any character really stays dead in this series. We all see them again in one form or another. (Ghosts, Mirror of Erised, Priori Incantatem, etc...) and hasn't Voldemort died like a billion times in the series? Maybe if we get lucky we might get a hot young diary!Sirius.

Oh I ♥ you so much for this.

I am fully totally completely in denial that he is dead. And I become very depressed at the thought that he wouldn't return. And I also worry that the veil is like their form of executing prisoners. They do call it the death chamber, and if it IS a form of execution, why would they make it possible for someone to return once they have gone through? I love Sirius SO much that I often think about him, which wouldn't be so wierd I guess if he wasn't a fictional character, but I don't care how weird it is, because I know that I am not alone in my fanaticalness. I ALSO have a major obsession with the ship Sirius/Remus and fully believe they are canon. This is also why I am upset about his "death" the fact that Remus is left behind, the only Marauder left, and now without his partner. I don't ship them as just a fangirl would, I ship them like they are a real couple that has a history going all the way back to their days at school. Ok this has turned a little rambly, so....

I don't really have any theories about his return right now, except that he WILL come back, like Luna says, "it returns in the end..." that is the one clue quote I hang on to, to keep myself sane until the 16th. I will end now with a simple shout out of, I LOVE YOU SIRIUS!!

Remus all alone! It just breaks my heart, especially cause Remus was like right there to see it happen. I just get sentimental when I read his reaction to Sirius going to the veil... but that's ok... because Sirius is just on vacation, he will come back and everything will be ok and he and Remus can get with the love again.
[identity profile] sarahdocbb.livejournal.com on July 1st, 2005 11:52 pm (UTC)
Me too, his reaction upsets me more than Harry's. And I can't believe Sirius went on "vacation" without Remus, he is going to be in such trouble when he gets back. But Remus will be so happy to see him that there will be much make up lovin. :P
[identity profile] ms-dollsome.livejournal.com on July 2nd, 2005 01:08 am (UTC)
LOL! Yay for Remus/Sirius fangirls!

I think I'll buy into that theory that Sirius in on "vacation". I can't in good conscience accept the fact that he's truly gone. I have faith that Jo will make it work out right in the end.

Yes she will, even though she said that he is dead and not coming back, she can always either change her mind or be giving us false information to keep spoilers away. All we can do is hope that she is listening to us, with our cry for our dear Sirius to return....(for remus). :D
[identity profile] ms-dollsome.livejournal.com on July 2nd, 2005 01:16 am (UTC)
*whimper* For Remus' sake I hope she changes her mind soon!

If she did decide to bring him back however, I wonder how he'd be. I mean, Azkaban was one thing but coming back from death could leave him all sorts of crazy.

That's just it, I continue to say he is NOT dead. So no worries about craziness. :P

I reeaaally want him to be alive. I love him so much. But I'm afraid this is could be one of those things where "life" becomes real in Potter for a moment and steals away and awesome, pretty major character permanently, just because life can. Because it's not something series-wise (for any series, tv, books..) that fans are not adjusted to, and it's jarring. Like when Tasha Yar died on TNG (for the Trekkies), or the Lone Gunmen died on The X-Files. It's mindblowing because fate doesn't usually reach down and snatch our favorite characters away, and is resonates for that reason.

That being said, I REALLY HOPE HE'S ABLE TO COME BACK BECAUSE THAT WOULD ROCK EEEEEEE FANGIRL MODE.

Dudes. He's so dead it would make your head spin.

I honestly don't have a problem thinking he is. The veil is not just some random peice of fabric. It's The Veil, you know, he has Passed The Veil, he has Gone To The Other Side, and he's not coming back. He had it coming to him.

I do love him, and I love what she's done with him. And I'm not sorry he's dead. He doesn't know how to live anymore; he's been dead for too long.

i'm with you on the refusing to believe he's gone. it seemed so sudden to be real. i guess i'm use to more of a climax where you get the idea that the person will die. it was just *poof* and no more Sirius! i guess that's why i keep thinking he's not gone for good, that he'll be around some more. especially with what Rowling said on her website in the FAQ about there being a reason why Harry forgot the mirror.

i don't know. this all makes since in my head.
